
These are photos of a juvenile squirrel (Patches) being treated for squirrel pox. He is being treated in his own territory and has NOT been brought into rehab. Two of his siblings were brought into rehab by another group and they both perished. Squirrel pox is contagious to squirrels only. It generally attacks the young and like all viruses, it has to run it's course and there is no known prevention or cure. Notice that this little guy is maintaining his weight and his eyes are no longer covered. Read the info page for more information on what treatment he is receiving.
